Daily energy tips on this all-talk radio station, “BTU” Bill’s Energy Tips. These tips are in an appendix of my textbook Retrofitting for Energy Conservation from McGraw-Hill, described below.  Here are some of my “Energy Tips” as printed in The Austin American Statesman in a small box on top of the front page.

publications – textbooks

Retrofitting for Energy Conservation
400-page practical design book from McGraw-Hill (1997).

The book is a hands-on book of literally hundreds of simple low-cost and no-cost energy-saving projects that can be done on any type of building. The book is structured so that a comprehensive retrofit of all building systems can be done starting with no-cost projects and those that can be incorporated into maintenance work.

Electrical Design Guide for Commercial Buildings
350-page practical design book from McGraw-Hill (1998).

This is a very practical book that has some basic theory too, intended to help designers and contractors do a better job and to make the workplace safer. The book focuses on ways to design energy-efficient electrical systems and how to modify existing electrical systems to use less energy without diminishing performance.
